The initial 50-minute session is an opportunity for us to explore your expectations for therapy and discuss how we might work together.

COUPLES

WORKING TOGETHER…

Relationships can become strained for many reasons, particularly during periods of stress, change, or emotional disconnection…

You may find yourselves repeating the same arguments, feeling misunderstood, emotionally distant, or uncertain about how to move forward together. For some couples, experiences such as betrayal, trauma, addiction, or major life transitions can place significant pressure on the relationship and leave both partners feeling stuck and disconnected. Changes in identity, career sacrifices, isolation from support networks, or difficulties adjusting to a new environment can affect both individuals and the relationship. Couples therapy offers a supportive and non-judgemental space to explore these difficulties together.

And, therapy is not only for relationships in crisis; it can also help couples strengthen communication, rebuild emotional closeness, develop greater understanding of one another, and create a healthier, more satisfying partnership.

My aim is to help couples better understand the patterns that may be keeping you disconnected while supporting them to develop more constructive ways of relating. Together, we may explore communication difficulties, emotional needs, shared values, conflict cycles, intimacy, trust, and the goals you both hold for the future of your relationship.

Strong and supportive relationships are closely linked to emotional wellbeing, resilience, and overall quality of life. Feeling valued, connected, and emotionally secure within our relationships can have a profound impact on mental and physical health.

THE GOTTMAN METHOD

SUPERVISION

An experienced supervisor working with both individuals and groups.

I have supported counsellors and psychotherapists at various stages of training, including those completing counselling and psychotherapy qualifications up to MSc level, as well as experienced practitioners already established in their careers.

Supervision can be arranged as a one-off consultation or on a regular basis, such as fortnightly or monthly, depending on your professional needs and preferences.

My experience includes supervising work relating to depression, anxiety, trauma, abuse, bereavement, and a wide range of other emotional and psychological difficulties. I have worked with practitioners in voluntary organisations, training placements, and private practice settings.

My supervisory style is integrative, incorporating approaches such as CBT, person-centred therapy, attachment and trauma-informed.

I create a reflective space where we can explore your clinical practice in depth. This may involve discussing a particular client relationship, a therapeutic challenge, or broader themes arising in your work. An important aspect of supervision is considering your own wellbeing, including the emotional impact that clinical work can have on you as a practitioner. Alongside clinical reflection, I also support supervisees in thinking about private practice development and wider professional growth.

I use Hawkins and Shohet’s Seven-Eyed Model of Supervision as a guiding structure within supervision sessions. Attachment theory is also central to how I formulate and understand therapeutic processes.

If you are interested in supervision, please feel free to contact me by email in the first instance. We can arrange an initial conversation to explore your needs and discuss whether I would be the right fit for you.
